Riffing my about

This is me putting my notes & thoughts online without filters and without worrying about who I’m writing for. Let’s just say in a way you opened my notebook without me knowing it.”

When I wrote the above ☝︎☝ I was riffing to myself on what to say on the about page. Then I overwrote it and forgot all about it. One day another blogger indirectly bonked me on the noggin about it and I promptly put it back on top.

Why? Because it’s reminding me to write for myself. To be bold.

It lifts the burden off me to write a certain way like writing for an audience and being proper n all with my words. It’s giving me permission to get out of the way of my true self and express freely.

A lot of times I have silly ideas (and still do). This boring audience filter of mine normally kills off these ideas because well, I think they’ll make me look silly.

That mission statement” above reminds me its okay to be silly, to share without worry. Just write.

It doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. I’m very glad you’re here and happy to have someone to share my thoughts with. If you have something to share or say (or silly ideas of your own to throw in!) by all means do it. I’d love to hear from you.

At the least we can learn from each other and be silly, right?

While I’m being silly I may as well share a quasi-poem what this blog is about, it sums it up quite well imo:

It’s weird that
despite 30 years of
running biz, knowledge
and experience

I feel like I know nuttin’,
that I’m starting from scratch
finding a new way of making a living.

I see all these young whippersnappers
slinging around the web
doing well with their livelihoods
and I wonder if I’ve been left in the dust.

but I know I’ve still got some mojo,
I know more than I think
and I can still learn what I don’t.

So this is what this is for,
a place for me to learn and share.
To find my way again in this world.

;)

Be bold (and silly),
Ray
